Summary:The main purpose of this research work is to analyze the relationship between self-esteem and the development of oral skills of students, elementary school of the Colegio Cristiano Bet-el Educational Institution, located in the municipality of Malambo / Atlántico. Once the observation was made in said Institution, it was possible to know from another perspective the possible impact that self-esteem has on the development of oral skills of students, noticing in them shortcomings to speak in public, interact with others, showing insecurity when speaking and express your ideas. In this investigation, all the actions developed to fulfill the proposed objectives can be evidenced. This research is framed in an interpretive paradigm, with a rationalist-deductive epistemological approach, establishing a mixed investigative approach. On the other hand, the techniques implemented were observation and test. The analysis and collection of the information were carried out through various instruments such as observation guide, Self-esteem test and interview guide. Through the analysis, it was possible to determine that there is no evidence of any correspondence between the results of both variables, which makes it possible to indicate that there may be other factors that are influencing the development of these skills, understanding that not only self-esteem would affect but also other factors . Therefore, it is necessary to reinforce the oral skills of students throughout their academic training, said research allowed to analyze and understand the different opinions of teachers about orality and its implications on self-esteem, which allows providing information to improve said situation . As a recommendation, it is proposed that it is necessary to strengthen self-esteem in students, likewise, it is important to provide support to students by strengthening within the educational institution programs that contribute to the development of self-esteem in students. Train teachers to understand the importance of developing good self-esteem in students, creating spaces inside and outside of classes, which allow constantly monitoring the level of self-esteem that students have.
