Summary: | Encouraging sustainable modes of transport has been one of the public policies that different national governments have motivated through various programmers, where they seek to reduce the dependence of users of the particular car by incentivizing sustainable means of transport such as bus, hike, and bicycle. In this work, a model of discrete choice is developed, integrating variables that allow to establish business policies that encourage the use of sustainable modes of transport. The target population are teachers and administrative staff of the University of the Coast who own private self. For the development of the model, a survey was implemented, obtaining socio-economic information, preferences by a specific means of transport, skills and perceptions of the respondent allowing the elaboration of an analysis and making it a discrete Mix Logit choice model with panel effect including variables such as travel times, waiting time, cost and method of payment of the auto alternatives , taxi, bus and special transport. Based on the information obtained and the model proposed, it was obtained as a result that private car users consider the implementation of the special means of transport when implementing pricing for the collection of parking within the institution, so the cost variable represents a great influence on the mode of choice of sustainable transport. |
