Summary: | Artisanal fishing (AF) can be conceived as that activity carried out by organized individuals or groups of people, in order to collect fish. This study aims to: analyze the socioenvironmental situation and the infrastructure of a community of artisanal fishermen in the Ciénaga de Malambo (CM). To achieve this objective: a) the component of the socio-ecological system (SSE) was determined, b) the characteristics of the local infrastructure were identified and c) strategies were established within the framework of sustainable development for the exercise of artisanal fishing. This is a descriptive-explanatory study of a mixed type and is made up of 3 PHASES. In the first PHASE, a survey was applied to 62 local fishermen (composed of three sections: socioeconomic, ecological, and artisanal fishing). In the second PHASE, an observation list was applied to see the state of the local infrastructure and in the last PHASE, strategies for the sustainable development of the PA in the area were proposed. Among the most relevant results is that: PA is developed by people with low educational and economic levels and with an absence of basic sanitation. There is an unfavorable perception of the ecological component and the AUNAP fishing authority (n= 77%), the fishermen develop the activity from 12 to 17 years (n = 47%), 84% of the fishermen prefer to do their tasks in the CM (n= 84%), since 43.5% believe that there is better security; the most widely used boat is the canoe (n= 53%) and the preferred means of propulsion is rowing (n= 100%). It is inferred that a key aspect was the problematic context (socioeconomic conditions and environmental pollution) faced by fishermen in their day to day. The swamp lacks an infrastructure for PA development. Finally, it is necessary to develop strategies so that the activity is developed in an efficient and sustained way over time. |
