| Summary: | The Social Security System (SGSS) is the way it provides insurance to cover health expenses to the inhabitants of the country, Colombians and foreigners. The person joins the Healthcare Promotion Entity (EPS) they prefer, get your Health Card and becomes part of the Social Security System in Health. Receives services through a Lending Institution Services (IPS), as discussed below. In Colombia, Law 100 of 1993, created the Social Security System in Health SGSSS, generating profound changes since 1994 in terms of organization, operation and financing of health services.
