Description
Summary:The objective of the present study was to know the family risk and protection factors associated with suicide in adolescents from the perspective of the family resilience model, in high school students and teachers, as well as therapists in contact with the problem. The methodol-ogy was of qualitative type with a phenomenological design by means of three focal groups with a sampling for convenience. The MAXQDA 12 program is used for qualitative data analysis. The main family risk factors were separation or distancing and lack of emotional expression; while the primary family protection factors were the connection between family members and social and economic resources. The main family resilience process involved in risk factors and protective factors for adolescent suicide, found in this research, is family organization.
