Summary:The present study has the central purpose of describing the sociodemographic, professional and professional profile of the graduate of the surgical instrumentation program of the Free University, Barranquilla Section. For this purpose, a documentary review on the educational and institutional guidelines of the program, the profile of competences formulated by ACITEQ, ACFIQ and COLDISNQUI (2014) and its conceptual articulation with the quality standards and the statistics of the labor observatory in the Higher Education framework. An empirical-analytical methodological approach was advanced, with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental transactional design. An instrument with five dimensions (sociodemographic aspects, lifestyle, working conditions, profile of professional competences and perception about undergraduate training) validated by experts was designed. The sample of the study was intentional and had the participation of 25 graduates, graduated between 2014 to 2016. Among the main results it is clear that the graduates have a healthy lifestyle, although some levels of stress are reflected mainly with economic references and of workload, they have a high level of employability in the area of instrumentation (88%) in the different scenarios applied, their average salary level is close to $ 2'200,000, their professional skills are highlighted and the positive appreciation is highlighted. they have received their training at the undergraduate level, which is based on an ethical, entrepreneurial, social commitment and performance-oriented assessment with the highest standards of quality and professional integrity in function of the permanent development of the discipline and its contribution to the well-being and quality of life of the patient, his family and the community.
