Esta publicación es el resultado del proceso de investigación realizado durante dos Años a partir del interés de contribuir con los saberes de la psicología de la salud. El problema de la prevención ha sido un tema debatido en escenarios académicos, sectoriales y gubernamentales de organizaciones como la OMS, OPS y el Ministerio de Protección Social. En el desarrollo de mi ejercicio académico y profesional el tema sobre el comportamiento humano, por ser uno de los vectores del paradigma de la salud, ha sido de reflexión permanente. La OMS ha declarado que la enfermedad es multicausal. El desarrollo científico en la psicología de la salud gira alrededor de estudios del comportamiento humano y su relación con el proceso salud – enfermedad. Es así como en este texto se presentan los resultados y aportes sobre el objeto de estudio en este campo de aplicación, con respecto a la investigación que se vienen realizando en muestras poblacionales en la ciudad de Barranquilla en el Caribe Colombiano. |

The problem of prevention has been a subject debated in academic, sectoral and governmental scenarios of organizations such as WHO, PAHO and the Ministry of Social Protection. In the development of my academic and professional practice, the subject of human behavior, as one of the vectors of the health paradigm, has been a permanent reflection. The WHO has declared that the disease is multicausal. The scientific development in the psychology of health revolves around studies of human behavior and its relationship with the health - disease process.
