Summary: | The purpose of this research is to determine the incidence of institutional accreditation in the extension of coverage in Higher Education in the Colombian Caribbean. Even though coverage in the Colombian Caribbean has increased in recent decades, it is still low compared to the national average. It is evident that the emergence of the Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions has generated a better positioning for the Institutions of the Colombian Caribbean region. The methodology is approached from the positivist paradigm of quantitative cutting under a type of descriptive research, non-experimental design. It was taken from a population composed of 33 accredited educational institutions in the country, a sample composed of 7 accredited Higher Education Institutions and with coverage in the four departments belonging to the Colombian Caribbean: Barranquilla, Cartagena, Santa Marta and the San Andres Archipelago, Providencia and Santa Catalina. The results are determined based on statistics related to coverage and quality of the Higher Education Institutions accredited and analyzed in such a way that they allow to determine how the processes of institutional accreditation have influenced the expansion of the Higher Education coverage in the Colombian Caribbean. With the work developed and developed, relevant information on the incidence of accreditation in coverage is offered to the Colombian Caribbean education system. |
