Summary:This research project was developed to present secondary education students’ social skills within a public institution in Barranquilla - Colombia. As a starting point, 150 Female of a total population of 283, College students from ninth, tenth and eleventh grade were taken into account for answering a survey that was based on the Matson Evaluation of Social Skills in Youngsters Scale (MESSY). This scale was designed to evaluate the behavior adaptation level. The methodology was based on a quantitative research purpose to determine the social skills Maria Inmaculada School students have, taking into account an objective data gathering process. This stage was done by applying a set of questions for students, which was previously accepted in other research projects.The questions concerning social skills will be analyzed by frequency adverbs such as: Never, sometimes, often, always. The research revealed that there are positive and negative social skills among the students from this educational community.
