Summary:The focus of this degree work was to analyze the psychocriminological characteristics in the case of YMC, who has been convicted of the crime of theft. This study was developed through a case study research design with a mixed, cross-sectional and descriptive approach. The information was obtained through data collection using the interview technique and various psychological instruments, such as: minimental, Goldberg general health questionnaire, Hamilton anxiety inventory, MILLON personality questionnaire, coping scale. Coping, AQ aggression test and the Plutchik impulsivity scale. The qualitative data are analyzed through axial, open and selective coding and the quantitative information through manual rating of the instruments. The results indicated that YMC presents a adequate cognitive functioning without evidence of significant alterations, the presence of moderate levels of anxiety and a high degree of impulsivity, irascibility and hostility are observed, in addition, multiple risk factors for criminal behavior are identified, highlighting an unfavorable family and sociocultural environment, the consumption of psychoactive substances and exposure since childhood to conflict resolution through the use of violence. This study concludes that, from an early stage of his life, YMC was exposed to risk factors that contributed to his involvement in the behavior punishable.
