Summary:The purpose of the research is to configure interdisciplinary pedagogical strategies for the development of basic competences in the area of social and citizen sciences in students of Secondary Basic Education. Epistemologically methodology will be based on the empirical approach, framed in the measurementist-quantitative paradigm, the method used is inductive. The reality is approached from the application of the survey technique whose instrument was the closed questionnaire with a likert scale applied to Secondary Education teachers belonging to the La Hacienda Normal High School, located in Barranquilla, Colombia. As significant findings, there is the characterization of the teaching practice, which, when contrasted with the theoretical foundations, allows us to conclude that the didactic methodologies implemented by the teachers of these areas of knowledge by being disjointed with respect to the other areas, do not favor integral development. of the students. The use of pedagogical strategies based on participation such as the Forum, problem-based learning and collaborative work is recommended, as they are configured from interdisciplinarity allow the development of citizen competencies in Secondary Education students.
