Description
Summary:In the context of the city of Barranquilla, a progressive closure of museums has been observed, raising concerns about its impact on the cultural identity of young people. This situation has limited their access to significant spaces for understanding and appreciating the local cultural richness. In response to this issue, a study was conducted with the aim of analyzing how the closure of museums affects the perception and participation of young people in the preservation of their cultural heritage. The study, which focused on young people from Barranquilla without distinction of employment status or student status, employed a qualitative approach and an online survey to gather data on participants' experiences, perspectives, and opinions. The results highlighted the importance of museums as spaces for connection with local history and culture, as well as the need for policies and actions to revitalize these spaces in the city. As a result of the study, the podcast "Puentes del Tiempo" was launched, which delves into the findings and discusses the role of museums in youth cultural identity and community development in Barranquilla. This podcast has become a platform to continue the conversation about the importance of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the city.
