Description
Summary:The purpose of this research is to analyze the practices of academic writing in students taking the subject of textual construction of the University of the Coast in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia. The sample consisted of 9 students, corresponding to the finalist group of the third version of the Scriptural Olympics; These are a project in which the participants construct an argumentative text, guided by mentors and, from which they receive feedback for the improvement of their writing. This study addressed a mixed approach where a qualitative component is articulated through the technique documentary analysis with a quantitative component, through descriptive statistical analysis. The Statistical Product and Service Solutions software (SPSS) was used to analyze the data. The results confirm that the use of an argumentative textual structure allows greater mastery in the written composition. It was concluded that having clarity about the stages that make up the argumentative textual structure positively impacts students' textual productions.
