Description
Summary:The homework, in addition to being the recreation of processes, products and subjects involved in an activity, which involve the achievement of goals and objectives for the benefit of a common good, includes the action or actions aimed at solving a situation in a context determined, where said situation must be solved by making use of all available knowledge. Due to the importance of homework within the teaching-learning process, the need is born to see it not only as a tool to put into practice or measure learning, but also to develop competencies, that is why the purpose of designing a proposal from the school management that contributes to the resignification of the school task as a strategy for the development of competencies in elementary school students arises. This research studies the variables Competencies Development, Resignification of homework and School Management. The study has a rationalist-deductive approach and, in correspondence with the epistemological approach, the quantitative and qualitative components are integrated (mixed method). The analysis units are represented by fifth grade elementary students, parents, Elementary teachers and rectors of public educational institutions of the District of Barranquilla. For data collection, techniques such as questionnaires with Likert scale and documentary review were used. The research allows to conclude that students develop competencies when dealing with complex homeworks, they are able to use their acquired knowledge supported by learning strategies and techniques, to validate possible solutions to problem situations, within a particular context and that the conception of homework as sequenced and intentional learning activities is a fundamental part of their resignification process, in which the participation of all the actors involved is essential.
