Description
Summary:Proposing coordination strategies for logistics networks implies, in addition to the formulation of operational proposals for the processes of supply, storage and distribution, and the design of the network structure through which goods/services, money and information will flow; the analysis of the conditions of the economic and productive context in which the logistics activity is framed, and the articulation of these to the proposals made, to make the productive chain more efficient and meet the requirements of the client, under the restrictions imposed by the environment. This paper analyses the factors that determine the production, postharvest handling and negotiation processes, as key elements that influence the operation of the rice logistics networks in Vatapá (Brazil), and that are conditioning factors for the design of coordination strategies. The result of the analysis allows for the identification of actions that decision-makers must take to impact the efficiency of logistics networks.
