Description
Summary:“Health Communication, Sign Language and technological mediation: doctor-patient relationship in Barranquilla” is a research project that evidences the communicational gap existing between deaf and hearing individuals outside of their family circle, which generates several difficulties in their daily lives, behavior and social interactions. The project tries to legitimize sign language as a means of communication by employing the deaf individual’s mobile devices and technological competences as a tool of this communication process. This process is envisioned as a solution of hearing-impaired interactions. The former is achieved by collecting data through snowball interviews, which exposed the difficulties in communication between the hearing and hearing-impaired, affecting their integrity.
