Description
Summary:The present work was conducted to evaluate the landscape conditions of the Puerto Velero beach by the implementation of the Rigidity parameter contemplated in the ICAPTU to identify and analyze the environmental impacts and the influence they exert on the coastal ecosystem. Initially, three visits were made to the study area to identify the typology using the rigidity instrument. Next, the real rigidity was evaluated by an impact's matrix. On the other hand, for the perceived rigidity, a single question survey was conducted with tourists regarding the infrastructure surrounding the beach and how it contrasts with the landscape. The results showed that Puerto Velero beach is typology 3, which corresponds to "altered or minimally rigidized beach". For real rigidity, all impacts belonging to typology 3 and impacts of other typologies were found in Puerto Velero beach. Finally, 47% of tourists considered that the infrastructure present on the beach in contrast to the landscape benefits them, 23% are affected by it, and 30% are indifferent. In short, the importance of applying the ICAPTU Rigidity parameter to Puerto Velero beach is highlighted, since it helped to evaluate the recreational condition and the tourist's perception.
