It is possible to point out that one of the most influential factors in land use planning is urban growth and soil space variation, these factors in turn generate an impact on the environment and a change in the social characteristics of the inhabitants, due to This has been done a degree entitled: "Analysis of variation in some social characteristics in the city of Barranquilla, based on primary and secondary information" provides an informational and descriptive analysis of urban variations, presented in specific areas, Of the city and the influence of these in the social sphere. This project aims to provide a study that analyzes the social perception of the habitants according to the changes observed in the area where they reside, thus providing an information base for future social studies that allow mitigating negative effects and improving the quality of life of the population. In order to achieve the above, primary and secondary information was collected respectively. Subsequently, with the results obtained and the information collected, the diagnosis of the social situation began.
