| Summary: | This paper "Proposal of curricular adaptation of Social Sciences for the Municipality of Providence and Saint Kethleena Islands, prepared by Ana Díaz Santiago and Ivon Watson Smith, from the area of Social Sciences. The problem to be studied arises from the concern of teachers in the area, for the amount of content presented required by the Ministry of National Education, which, added to a series of compulsory chairs, often does not reach to work in the school year, and also does not allow the recognition of the socio-cultural knowledge of the small towns. The general objective proposes to design strategies for the curricular adaptation of the Social Sciences for the Municipality of Providence and Saint Kethleena Islas, which integrates the contents of the area, the obligatory chairs, and the topics of the raizal culture. A mixed methodology was used, where interviews, surveys, documentary analysis, and validation of the instruments were applied to the educational community. When analyzing the applied instruments it was possible to conclude that all consider the topics that are taught in the area important and agree on the implementation of a curricular adaptation proposal of Social Sciences for the Municipality of Providence and Providence and Saint Kethleena Islands, since it facilitates integrating in a single plan the contents of the area, the compulsory chairs, and the topics of the raizal culture, in order to guarantee the appropriation of the knowledge established in the guidelines of the area, improving the performance and the competences of the students and thus raise the Synthetic Quality Index |
