The mean efficiency scores by which the competitiveness output can be optimized is 47.43%. The results suggest that the configuration of competitive pillars has important implications for efficiency analyses. For small businesses, competitive-enhancing actions should focus on mitigating competitive weaknesses that are detrimental to efficiency. Also, a configuration of competitive pillars in which one or various competitive strengths prevail is more beneficial for small businesses. Managerial tools such as the proposed competitiveness measure may offer useful information on what strategic actions can contribute to optimize business competitiveness.

También, evaluamos cómo La configuración de pilares competitivos (fortalezas y debilidades) afecta la eficiencia y la forma en que el tamaño de la empresa modera esta relación. El puntaje promedio de eficiencia por el cual se puede optimizar la salida de competitividad es de 47.43%. Los resultados sugieren que la configuración de pilares competitivos tiene implicaciones importantes para los análisis de eficiencia. Para las pequeñas empresas, las acciones para mejorar la competitividad deberían centrarse en mitigar las debilidades competitivas que son perjudiciales para la eficiencia. Además, una configuración de pilares competitivos en la que prevalecen una o varias fortalezas competitivas es más beneficiosa para las pequeñas empresas.
