Summary: | The purpose of this research is to demonstrate how by using a pedagogical strategy applied to students from grades 1º, 2º and 3º of primary school, you can improve the reading and writing processes of the English and Spanish languages in the child in the Educational Institutions in the municipality of Providencia and San Catalina Isla.Taking as reference the Junín School where the emphasis is academic and day time modality, a descriptive research method was used, which is the procedure used in science to describe the characteristics of the phenomenon, subject or population to be studied. For the present work, a sample of 71 primary school students of grades 1, 2 and 3 of the 665 enrolled and 5 teachers were selected together with the director of the School. Surveys were applied to students and interviews to teachers to verify the degree of difficulty presented by students during the process of reading and writing and the use of Creole as the first language by teachers in the lower grades of primary school. To assist in the research, documents and theses written on the subject were referenced in other schools both in the department and at the national level and in the Caribbean where it could be demonstrated that teaching in first language or mother tongue in the first years helps improve reading comprehension in children. It was concluded that children leaving their homes where most of them are ancestral descend and where their first language is Creole, at the time of arriving at school, most of them have reading comprehension and writing problems in English and Spanish. and therefore it is necessary to apply the strategy of education in first language in grades 1, 2 and 3 of primary school in the Educational Institution Junín |
