Summary: | This study examines the representations and practices of peacebuilding within the Movement of Children, Adolescents, and Youth Peace Managers, using a mixed-methods approach. The data were analyzed with the EVOC 2003 program using "Prototypical Analysis," identifying core and peripheral elements from the evoked terms to organize the content of the studied representations. Additionally, Atlas.ti version 24 software was used. The results reveal that the social representations of Peace Managers regarding concepts such as “Peace,” “Peace Managers,” “Peace Practices,” and “Peace Agreements” are based on fundamental values that guide their collective and individual actions. Among these values, love, mutual help, respect, solidarity, and commitment stand out as pillars in their community work and personal development. Peace practices are promoted through community development, active participation in social transformation, and mediation in the peaceful resolution of conflicts. The movement also focuses on value-based education, promoting active listening and forming citizens committed to human rights. A variation in the understanding of peace is observed based on roles within the movement. Mentors tend to have a more formal and structured view of peace, while, in contrast, the "semilleros" (seedlings) have a view that relates more to listening, fun, and participation as recipients and participants in specific activities. |
