Summary: | The SME have a fundamental role in the productive apparatus of the countries, since they are characterized by contributing to GDP and generating employment, therefore, these companies have the social and economic development of the city of Barranquilla and the managerial and organizational difficulties they face to successfully implement strategies that respond to the demands of the environment. The objective of this research is to analyze the strategic direction of SMEs in the bakery products manufacturing sector of the city of Barranquilla, through a methodological design that was based on a type of descriptive research with a non-experimental field design. For which the results were processed with descriptive statistics techniques, elaborating absolute and relative frequency tables. The results led to establish that in this type of organizations there are problems in the different stages of strategic management, since their strategic actions are not deployed through tactical and operational plans. Consequently, those responsible for the top management of the SMEs in the bakery sector must permanently work on the consolidation of a strategic culture, where the members of the organization are aligned through a clear and shared organizational strategy. In addition, these companies need to use control instruments, which help to implement the strategy to make the most of the learning and the potential that is generated in the organization |
