Perfil de competencias docentes para fortalecer procesos de calidad educativa en la Educación Básica Primaria

The purpose of this research is to analyze primary teacher´s competence to achieve an educational process that guides the improvement of educational quality. The development of the research was carried out by observing teachers´ classes at María Inmaculada School, in Barranquilla, in order to observe how the basic competences, that improve the academic performance of the students, are evidenced. In addition, strengthen teachers’ pedagogical practice and therefore, improve the educational quality in the school. It is important to understand, analyze and apply competency-based training. First of all, because the educational approach is within Colombian politics at the different levels, this means that all teachers must learn to perform adequately. Second, because competences are the fundamental orientation to promote projects inside and outside of the school. Third, because the competences constitute the fundamental basis for guiding the curriculum, teachers, learning and evaluation from a quality framework that provides new principles, indicators and tools to make this approach the best quality proposal
