Summary:In recent years the population worldwide is in a large environmental problem without solving, because of the inadequate management of waste and solid waste generated by society (houses, industry, schools, among others). Day by day the number of populations increases causing a high environmental deterioration since citizens do not have knowledge about the environmental component, that is, the majority of the population does not know how to recycle, reduce or reuse much less can give an adequate management to the waste that it generates for this reason, it is discarded, being reflected in the streets of the cities, bodies of contaminated water, where we find waste everywhere and where we can also notice that the population is indifferent to this situation. The student population of the Mixed Education Center of Galapa (CEMGA) in the municipality of Galapa, does not escape from this environmental problem, the school has an inadequate management of waste and solid waste so it is intended to apply environmental education strategies chords to this problem. Taking into account that educational institutions play a very important role in the education of the human being, which gives institutions a great commitment to solve this problem. The pillar of every human being are the customs and learning are linked by training, intellectual, moral, affective capacity of people according to their culture, norms of the society to which they belong, which allows a transformation to mitigate the impact that this problem generates. The environmental component must be managed comprehensively, in this way the quality of life, environmental culture can be improved, as well as developing plans and programs of development in the communities that contribute to the care and preservation of the environment. During the development of this project, environmental education was implemented to work on the subject of waste and solid waste in some subjects given by tenth and tenth grade students, which interweaved the themes of each teacher's educational plan, the subjects such as project, biology, physical education, economics and political science, topics that cover environmental issues are included, highlighting the problems that are currently faced due to the improper management of waste and solid waste, thus demonstrating that environmental education has a place in the curriculum of the educational establishment. The results obtained from the research manage to clarify and establish the importance of these concepts in young people who are the future of society to give a good management and minimization of this problem. Strengthening their capacities and incorporating in the environmental area corrective action plans, best practices and activities that benefit the entire student population on the proper management with respect to this issue, also, it could be noted that through activities carried out, it was generated a great sense of belonging on the part of the students, for their contributions and management with respect to these issues and the approach that was given, for them it was something new, thus achieving positive results in each activity, the interest of part of the teachers of these subjects for adding environmental themes to their curricula
