Description
Summary:In this research analysis of urban risk in two neighborhoods of the City of Barranquilla, (Prado and Centro), located in the department of Atlántico, Colombia is carried out. The aim of the research was to partially apply, in two urban neighborhoods of Barranquilla district, a method for the integrated management of urban risk in the event of disasters (GIRUD method). Twelve concepts and fifteen methodologies involved in disaster risk management (DRM) are analyzed. The author's position regarding different terms analyzed is established. The research was structured in three stages. The first identifies the valid categories and variables for DRM. An exhaustive search of research articles indexed in most databases Scopus and Clarivate is also carried out. In the second stage, the method for integrated management of urban disaster risk (GIRUD) is designed. This is made up of three phases and six steps. The third and last stage of the research validates the GIRUD method in two neighborhoods under study. Qualitative and quantitative techniques of scientific investigation were used in this work. Online digital platforms Google Earth and QuestionPro were applied. A survey of 278 inhabitants was carried out to corroborate threats, vulnerabilities, and risks present in the two neighborhoods studied. As result, five concept maps that intervene in DRM were designed. The GIRUD method is also provided. This method was tested in the study areas, demonstrating its effectiveness up to the first validated phase. This research provides tools for urban risk management at the local scale.
