Summary:	The present investigation evaluated the potential risks that the community of the El Pueblito neighborhood has., due to its proximity to Arroyo León. A risk assessment was developed according to the historical flood events that the area presented, for this the social perception of the inhabitants was determined, the hydraulic and hydrological characteristics with which the canal was designed and the potential threats together with the elements at risk, to classify its associated level; in addition to the consequent environmental impacts. Social perception was knew through surveys, where information was gathered that estimated the perception of some inhabitants regarding the issue of channel overflow. The elements of the hydraulic section of the canal were determined from experimental and theoretical values, where the result of these obtained the approximate design flow. The hydrological study was based on secondary information on the basins located in the Atlántico department, for the study those drainage systems were delimited where there was interaction with the georeferenced space and thus understand the drainage trend for the sub-basin under study, which corresponded to the from Arroyo León. From the risk assessment was considered a series of threats of which there is a record in the department of Atlántico, based on a checklist, those present in the area will be identified. The list of elements at risk was determined based on the degree of impact that these will suffer when threatening events occurs, for which an emphasis was placed on those that have a direct and indirect relationship with the channel. The research carried out will probably determine simultaneously the environmental effects caused by the risks shown, where anthropic causes were highlighted.
