Description
Summary:This investigation is based on the identiication of the causes and possible solutions and failures in electronic cards that are associated with the NIRVANA air compressor´s VSD (Variator Speed Drive). It has been installed in the area of LATERÍA of the GRACETALES S.A. company, The survey was conducted by the collection of information that was obtained through inspections on the electrical installation, meassure of network with the grid analyzer instrument with the objetive of detecting irregular temperature operation of equipment with thermographic camera. When all the information was collected and processed it was used for data interpretation and diagnosis of irregular conditions described by the equipment installed in the area under study. Finally was exposed as a solution the implementation of an active filter which in addition to mitigate the harmful effects caused by harmonics on the electrical network, it will optimize the operation of the air compressor´s VSD while minimizing energy consumption.
