Estudio correlacional entre capital social, cogniciones postraumáticas y salud mental en jóvenes víctimas del conflicto armado en el Barrio las Gardenias de la ciudad de Barranquilla

The present investigation presents a correlational analysis between the variables of social capital, mental health and posttraumatic cognitions in young victims of the armed conflict. The sample consisted of 130 young people between the ages of 15 and 23 located in the Las Gardenias neighborhood in the southwest of Barranquilla. A quantitative study was made, with a correlational design, not experimental. The instruments used to measure the research were: Subjective Well-Being Scale (Diener, 1985), Psychological Well-Being Scale (Ryff, 1989), Social Welfare Scale (Keyes, 1998), Post-traumatic Cognitive Inventory (Foa, Tolin, Ehlers, Clark & Orsillo, 1999), Scale for Measuring Social Capital, EMCASO, (Cardozo and Cortes, 2015). The results show that displacement as a social phenomenon, generates negative consequences in young people as the development of posttraumatic cognitions, on the other hand, it was also found that Social Capital is positively associated with mental health.
