The risk is conditioned by two components: kind of menace and vulnerability. For that reason, coastal risk means that the coastal area is exposed to the possibility of loss. To know the risks a specific coastal area is exposed to, the possible consequences of a natural or anthropic event impact, and the probabilities of some kind of danger or threat to that area, have to be previously assessed. |
