Summary:	The aim of the following investigation, of deductive, inductive and analytical approach is to value the impact on the sustainability that provokes the presence of the species R. rattus in Barranquilla's center specifically in the Cra 43 with street 34; for this study there were provided tools that will allow to anticipate the risk of affectation in the community, in the environment and in the economy of any place in which the similar conditions are as those developed in the research are established. For this study one worked with a sample of 51 persons of both sexes and of different ages, which make part area visitors and workers in this and they agreed to provide their time and opinion. For the compilation of the information it was taken as a starting point a study by Duchesne (2004), who identified the areas of risk for presence of rodents in Barranquilla's city, department of the Atlantic, Colombia. With relation to the results, these they threw the proportion of rates for inhabitant who would exist in Barranquilla's city nowadays that would be ±1 r/h; resulting impacts in the economy, in the health of the population and in the environment of the zone of study and where can imbalances occur if no preventive measures with respect to the presence of the species Rattus, rattus: a system of qualification was created this way to have more information with regard to the probability of affectation that the population can have if it supports relation with the dregs, urine and hair and how much can concern (the rodent contaminates and to damage) different objects as: structures, cables and food.
