Estrategias del sector privado como actor de cooperación internacional en la generación de desarrollo en el departamento del Atlántico, Colombia

The current global situation indicates that economic growth is uneven, increasingly expanding the gap between rich and poor, for which the International Cooperation has been set as an answer in order to help improving the quality of life through fulfillment of the Millennium Development Goals. The Atlantico Department isn't stranger to this situation, it is necessary to join efforts integrating new actors who contribute to the improvement of inequality. Therefore this research is aimed to determine strategies that allow to the private sector to position itself as an actor of international cooperation in the Atlantic department, Colombia, considering this like an actor whose integration is vital by its potential as a development generator. Results obtained conclude that, although the Atlantico department still has an incipient organization in the International Cooperation topic and the private sector does not consider it a priority, to be positioned the private sector as an actor can contribute to a better quality of life in the region and sustainability of companies. A variety of strategies that do not necessarily require substantial investment by companies was also detected.
