Summary:The curriculum plans the knowledge to train students that contribute to the needs of the context, and requires a strategic direction that develops a profile according to the institutional proposal. Currently there are schools that lack that coherence, such is the case of the I.E. María Auxiliadora, where an update of the H.I. but they have not yet been included in the curriculum adjustments. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that these two pillars agree and comply with what is planned in the PEI and the strategic direction. This paper proposes to articulate the curricular planning of the level of medium education and the recent Horizon. This research is descriptive, with a qualitative approach, and a population focused on students of the vocational media of the I.E. María Auxiliadora de Soledad (Atlantic). The techniques and instruments used are: documentary review, non-participant observation, and structured interviews with teachers and teachers. It is expected that through the articulation between curriculum planning and the H.I. the purposes proposed in this research work are reached, which has total viability for its execution in the school, since it has the necessary human and physical resources to carry out said research. Regarding the findings of the state of the joint between the current H.I. and the curricular planning, it is concluded that the school must adjust the curriculum to include integrally, to the institutional horizon who marks the actions of the school and directs its members.
