Description
Summary:The objective of this research is to relate empathy, emotional regulation and resilience with the challenging behaviors of adolescents in contexts of socioeconomic adversity who are beneficiaries of the NGO Children International Colombia; the sample of participants included 150 adolescents belonging to the NGO Children International Colombia in the city of Barranquilla to whom the following instruments were applied: adaptation of the Basic Empathy Scale, TMM-24, the deviant behavior scale and the resilience scale CD-RISC. A non-experimental, quantitative and correlational design was used for data analysis using R Studio software, in order to establish the relationship between the variables and determine the level of significance. The research shows a positive correlation between resilience and the age of the adolescents of Children International Colombia, indicating that the capacity for resilience increases with age. It was also observed that males present higher levels of resilience than females, suggesting the need for differentiated approaches in interventions. These findings support the relationship of resilience with age and gender, underscoring the importance of socioemotional skills, such as empathy and emotional regulation, for the development of adolescents in adverse contexts.
