Summary:The objective of this research work is to design a proposal based on the didactic mediation of ICT, which through the production of digital content and the development of visual thinking contribute to the strengthening of environmental awareness in young people in secondary school. For this, the theme is explored in an argumentative way in different dimensions, such as: technological, educational policy, environmental education, methodological and student attitudinal profile. The methodology is based on a rationalist - deductive approach, a critical - mixed paradigm and a deductive logical reasoning method; Regarding the research design, this is documentary, field and purposeful; whose empirical context is the Educational Institution San José de Majagual – Sucre, Colombia. The main results obtained are distinguished in the motivation generated by visual techniques and computer resources in students, as well as the importance of developing interdisciplinary and transversal proposals by teachers and teaching directors that contribute to strengthening environmental awareness in students. The findings serve as input for the design of the pedagogical proposal: PLANETÓN C.A, with the purpose of strengthening environmental awareness, encouraging visual thinking and the development of digital videos, focused on environmental problems of the context. It is concluded that there is a need to promote environmental awareness in young people in secondary school, integrating attractive and interdisciplinary initiatives through the didactic mediation of ICT.
