Description
Summary:This article focuses its interest on the study of strategies aimed at improving educational quality. Its objective is to establish the relationship between the Evaluation of Educational Performance (EDD) and the components of the Synthetic Index of Educational Quality (ISCE) at the level of Basic Primary Education in public institutions of the District of Barranquilla. The methodology developed was oriented under the positivist paradigm, with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental, correlational transectional type design, in which a non-probabilistic sample was taken, with the participation of 144 schools and 737 teachers of the primary basic level. Likewise, the Stata tool and the Pearson correlation coefficient were used to analyze the statistical data. The technique used was the analysis of the documentary review, provided by the District Education Secretariat of Barranquilla on the performance evaluations of the teachers belonging to the schools studied and the results of the ISCE 2017. The results were described in two phases: a descriptive phase and an inferential phase in which the findings determined that the components performance, progress and efficiency reached a positive correlation but low and statistically not significant, while the school environment component had a negative correlation but statistically significant. Therefore, it was concluded that: there is no correlation between the EDD and the components: Performance, Progress and Efficiency of the ISCE, and that the higher the qualification of the teacher, the lower the results of the School Environment component.
