Description
Summary:This article develops the theme of territorial regime of regions in Colombia, from autonomy in managing resources and taxes to fulfill their constitutional order functions with administrative implications. For a real development of the regions in Colombia, a true accomplishment of the principle of administrative autonomy, which is established in the Constitution regarding this special territorial regime, must prevail. To develop this study, the article is divided into three parts. The first reviews the historical aspects of the regions in Colombia under the perspective of the Constitution of 1991. The second develops the territorial configuration of regions in Colombia regarding Articles 286 and 287 of the Constitution. And finally, the third one concerns the administrative aspects of decentralization and autonomy in the administration of resources and their destination.
