Description
Summary:This research seeks to establish a relationship between citizen skills and social capital in students from 9th to 11th grades in the district and private educational institutions of the city of Barranquilla and its metropolitan area. The method of this research contemplates a retrospective ex post facto and correlational type design, which included the participation of 793 students distributed in 7 educational institutions in the city of Barranquilla and its metropolitan area. The analysis is performed using a Pearson correlation. The main findings show that there is a statistically significant relationship between most of the dimensions of the study variables except for two. It is concluded that citizen competences and social capital are related in a statistically meaningful way and that they can be implemented in future research as components to develop psychosocial intervention strategies in communities.
