Summary: | The advancement of flexible pavement engineering has been considerable in recent years worldwide, allowing the development of more reliable design methodologies that allow the design and construction of pavements with a cost-benefit ratio that is more convenient for the development of road infrastructure consequently, the high investments made to build and conserve the road infrastructure generate greater benefits, contributing to the economic development of the nations. Flexible pavement design methodologies have evolved from empirical methods to mechanistic-empirical methods, the latter requiring calibration to local conditions, are the most advanced in pavement design methods and represent the state of the art in the subject. |
