Description
Summary:This research deals with the importance of critical reading within the educational process, making a relationship of this with research in the classroom, using a specific reading method such as the IPLER and taking advantage of the great interest of children and young people for the use of technology. The research is descriptive, propositive and quasi-experimental in nature; under the application of the instrument called the critical reading test, to ninth grade students conforming a control group (B) and an experimental group (A). The results allowed to identify a low performance of the students in the levels of critical reading, in the same way it was demonstrated the importance that exists in relation to the acquisition of critical reading skills, thus achieving a critical thinking and therefore a reading in accordance with the demands of a global, interconnected world. It is concluded that the application of the IPLER method is relevant to improve the development of critical reading skills with technological resources, taking into account that we are in a world of technology.
