Description
Summary:In order to guarantee its operation and supply to users, a transformer substation must comply with reliability and security requirements, it starts with security requirements aimed to guaranteeing the quality of supply at every moment of its operation. In Colombia, this requirement is evaluated by the Mining and Energy Planning Unit (UPME) and the regional and departmental action plans, which are adjusted with the growth and expansion plans. However, if the substations and configurations used are not renewed and updated, they could begin to lack these requirements at the end of their useful life in a portion of their operation, limiting both reliability and safety. This project aims to project improvements to the substation in the center of the city of Barranquilla, which is part of the 110 kV distribution system, coming from two lines of the neighboring substations Oasis and Silencio. Based on real data of the current electrical network, a simulation will be carried out in DigSilent software, under these conditions a series of changes were made and alternatives were presented, taking into account the different regulations and plans that UPME has proposed for this substation.
