Summary:Information and communications technology (ICT) have become today an essential growth factor for businesses in Colombia, according to the above noted Ballmer "ICT will continue to change the world, and not investing in them is a disadvantage" (IESE, 2004), although in the current scenario organizations are aware of the importance that generates invest in technology, there are many companies who see the technology as a differentiator to generate competitive advantage; precisely this is one of the main challenges facing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Colombia. IT Governance (GobIT) coming or is part of the Corporate Governance, is only relative to how discipline that senior management of the organizations leading the development and use of information technology (IT) (Gil, 2011), which is why proper structuring and implementation of a model to manage technology resources in order to make decisions that are aligned with the strategies of corporate governance is necessary. This paper proposes a model aimed at SMEs and through which models based best practices and recognized standards, including ISO 38500: 2008, COBIT, CMMI, ITIL; as a starting point a characterization has been developed in order to know the current state of the Information Technology Government in the SMEs of the city of Barranquilla, later it is proceeded to examine which are the frameworks oriented to GobIT and that are susceptible to be implemented in this type of companies. Finally, as a result of the analysis of the selected frameworks, an integrated GobIT model is developed, designed to comply with the requirements of corporate governance and to strengthen the capacities of the technological processes within the SMEs.
