Description
Summary:In search of pavements guaranteeing a level of comfort to users through their serviceability index, criteria are set, which allow determining a rating according to the state of its structure. For this, it is very necessary to take into account the methodology that will objectively evaluate their performance, so that a value can be granted and thus determine the level of serviceability of each pavement. Through the development of the serviceability models, users are expected to make a judgment on the quality of the roads, taking as a reference various types of damages and the inconvenience they cause, but other more field evaluation methods are also used, such as sampling, damage inventory and expert qualification, as established by the methodology of the PCI (Pavement Condition Index). Currently there are models designed to be widely applied in the field of roads, which are deterministic in nature and base their veracity on the criteria of road users, regardless of the ability or knowledge of these users to make their judgments., which can generate deviations and errors in the results of the models. The emphasis of this research is to apply a model that adapts to the conditions of the pavement that is in the city of Barranquilla, specifically in the north-historical center. When qualifying and determining the serviceability of pavements in the city, that uses both deterministic and probabilistic models, that includes and takes into account own factors that impact urban pavements and that can be applied in different places where there are the same characteristics as in Colombia. The model applied for this study PCI (Index of condition of the pavement) consists of the visual evaluation of this, having as reference the 18 damages proposed by the method and based on the results obtained after the evaluation, a comparative analysis with the operating speeds given in the different sections evaluated
