Summary: | This article seeks to compare two forms of design of UASB reactors used in Colombia. The first is the most widely used and is the classic form, with the recommenda-tions and parameters dictated by RAS 2000. The second method is present and current that is given in resolution 0330 of 2017. The calculation of four design flows is made by each design method, then the approximate investment costs are taken out and the data is analyzed. Finally, it is concluded that resolution 0330 of 2017, goes against the principle of optimal design and the good destination of resources. This change in the way of calculating the flow of design generated a budget increase in the basic sanitation projects that were immersed in the transition of the norm and those that are to come. |
