Description
Summary:The purpose of this research work is to use used cooking oil (ACU) collected from specific points of food stalls in the center of Bogotá, to evaluate the alternative of making artisan soaps through the use of residue, as a reduction strategy. of the negative environmental impact for the cases in which there is inadequate management of the oil. It begins by characterizing the selected food stalls, and characterizing the raw material, which in this case is used oil. Following this, physical properties were analyzed, such as density, moisture content, refractive index, percentage of insoluble solids, and chemical properties, such as acidity, peroxide, iodine, and saponification index, in order to identify the conditions in which where the oil is found, and its functionality to make soaps.
