Description
Summary:The article presents an overview of Habitat in Community Territories, within the frame-work of sustainable urban development, a goal that is currently hampered by various constraints, especially in countries of emerging economies. Methodologically, a state of the art was made from documents indexed by databases, between 2000 and 2017, around the study of groups and communities that are located in community territories, especially in those regions that preserve ancestral, aboriginal and indigenous cultures. The results present some of the strategies implemented by the communities of different regions of the planet, when their purpose is to improve their habitability conditions and their quality of life, under four approaches: i) research centers in community habitat; ii) habitat and community participation; iii) indigenous communities and popular habitat; and iv) sustainable habitat, infrastructure and inclusion.
