En el primer capítulo, el autor se refiere a las relaciones entre la compraventa internacional de mercaderías y el proceso de globalización, en particular los aspectos de la ubicación de este instrumento normativo internacional dentro de los procesos de armonización y unificación jurídica; así como otros aspectos generales. Siguiendo el proceso de formación del contrato y su regulación en la Convención sobre compraventa internacional en la parte II, artículos 14 a 24, el autor analiza en el capítulo segundo las etapas de tratos preliminares, oferta y aceptación, haciendo referencia en varios apartes no solamente a los aspectos doctrinales, sino también a la jurisprudencia de tribunales internacionales. Para comprender de la mejor manera el proceso de formación del contrato, el autor hace referencia al tratamiento que algunas de las figuras analizadas tienen en el derecho comparado. The author refers to one of legal institutions in which the process of economic globalization had influenced in a direct way: the contract of international sale of goods, according to its regulation in the United Nations Convention of 1980, adopted in Colombia by means of Law 518 of 1999, which went into effect August 1st of 2002. In first chapter, the author presents the relations between the international sale of goods and the globalization, particularly the aspects of the location of this international regulation inside the harmonization processes and legal unification; as well as other general aspects. Following the process of formation of contracts and its regulation in the Convention of International Sale of Goods, the author analyzes in second chapter the steps of preliminary treatments, its offer and acceptance, referring not only to doctrinal aspects, but also to jurisprudence of international courts.
