To diagnose the country's gold mining activities and the excessive use of mercury in them, we used six information sources (semi-structured interviews, 2011 Census on Mining Activities), nine dependent and 21 independent variables. The study evidenced the miners' partiality in favor of the use of mercury in the procurement of gold; the process is easy, quick and inexpensive. Mercury concentrations were found to be above tolerable levels. In response, government has opted for a policy of persecution of the activity rather than the promotion of their formalization.nullPontificia Universidad JaveriananullDefensoría del Pueblo de Colombia2018-02-24T15:59:01Z2020-04-15T18:09:37Z2018-02-24T15:59:01Z2020-04-15T18:09:37Z2013-02-28http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85Artículo de revistahttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501info:eu-repo/semantics/articleCuantitativo y cualitativoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionPDFtext/htmlapplication/pdfhttp://revistas.javeriana.edu.co/index.php/scientarium/article/view/403210.11144/Javeriana.SC18-1.mgmc2027-13520122-7483http://hdl.handle.net/10554/31018enghttp://revistas.javeriana.edu.co/index.php/scientarium/article/view/4032/4243http://revistas.javeriana.edu.co/index.php/scientarium/article/view/4032/4940http://revistas.javeriana.edu.co/index.php/scientarium/article/view/4032/5229http://revistas.javeriana.edu.co/index.php/scientarium/article/downloadSuppFile/4032/920Universitas Scientiarum; Vol 18, No 1 (2013); 33-49Universitas Scientiarum; Vol 18, No 1 (2013); 33-49Universitas Scientiarum; Vol 18, No 1 (2013); 33-49nullnullnullColombia2011-2012nullAtribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 4.0 Internacionalinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2reponame:Repositorio Universidad Javerianainstname:Pontificia Universidad Javerianainstacron:Pontificia Universidad Javeriana2023-03-28T21:15:57Z |
