Here, we present a comparative study on the prevalence of rotavirus and norovirus in two regions of Colombia: Chocó and Cundinamarca. Five hundred and thirty stool samples were collected; 330 in Cundinamarca and 200 in Chocó. In the sample set from Chocó, 6 % of the samples presented rotavirus and 8 % norovirus; meanwhile, 9.7 % of the samples from Bogotá presented rotavirus and 9 % norovirus. These results show that, in some regions of Colombia, the prevalence of norovirus is similar or slightly higher than rotavirus. This is a tendency that should be examined in other non-developed countries as it suggests that the presence of norovirus should also be under surveillance.Pontificia Universidad JaverianaBank of the Republic2018-02-24T16:00:57Z2020-04-15T18:08:40Z2018-02-24T16:00:57Z2020-04-15T18:08:40Z2014-09-09http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85Artículo de revistahttp://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionPDFapplication/pdfapplication/pdfhttp://revistas.javeriana.edu.co/index.php/scientarium/article/view/993810.11144/Javeriana.SC20-1.npcv2027-13520122-7483http://hdl.handle.net/10554/31910enghttp://revistas.javeriana.edu.co/index.php/scientarium/article/view/9938/8447http://revistas.javeriana.edu.co/index.php/scientarium/article/view/9938/8448Universitas Scientiarum; Vol 20, No 1 (2015); 107-115Universitas Scientiarum; Vol 20, No 1 (2015); 107-115Universitas Scientiarum; Vol 20, No 1 (2015); 107-115nullnullnullAtribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 4.0 Internacionalinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2reponame:Repositorio Universidad Javerianainstname:Pontificia Universidad Javerianainstacron:Pontificia Universidad Javeriana2023-03-28T21:15:27Z
