Summary:This article presents an analysis of the abuse of the dominant position of private companies which provide the residential aqueduct public service. Further, it set a comparison of the experiences of France and Colombia from a perspective that put in discussion the agency of local management and free market around the provision of water and sewer service. On the other hand, the cases of studies develop a scenario that combine important aspects around the water market in France and in Colombia.
